Band Fees

Is there a cost or fee to participate in the band?

All OCPS schools have what is called a “fair share” that is assessed to each student.  The Fair Share helps cover costs associated with the band program including: Uniform Upkeep, Materials Purchases, Transportation Costs, Assessment Dues, Member T-Shirts, Marching Shoes, Marching Band Show Costs, Staff and Clinician costs and more.

For the 2024-25 school year the Fair Share is $400 and can be paid on SchoolPay.  In the event SchoolPay cannot be used, cash payments can be made through Mr. Cunningham.

My family can’t afford the Fair Share, does that mean my child can’t participate?

Financial hardships will never keep a student from participating in band at LBV.  Many students can fundraise their entire fair share through participation in our numerous fundraising opportunities.  Many fundraisers are service oriented, meaning we don’t “sell” products to raise money.  This helps allow for students to equitably raise funds for their fair share of the program.

What kinds of Fundraisers does the LBV Band do?

  • We participate annually in InstaRaise, an online donation fundraiser.
  • We participated annually in a local coupon book sale
  • We provide volunteer services for OrlandoFest, where students who need to can work off fair share at an hourly rate
  • Other fundraisers change but expect an additional 2 to 3 throughout the year (especially in trip years).
