Hello Viper Vanguard Family!
I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of the volunteers, including parents, students, friends of the program and more who helped us with a MASSIVELY busy weekend! Between Senior Night on Friday, BOA on Saturday and some additional work on Sunday we really accomplished a tremendous amount this weekend.
I am so proud of our seniors and our band as a whole after our Friday night Senior Night/Middle School night. The kids had a GREAT performance, had a wonderful recognition of seniors and our middle school friends had a great time in the stands with us during the game. That was a great last football game for our season!
This week is MPA week! MPA will be at Boone High School and is a GREAT chance to come watch the band as we perform the whole show for only the second time this year! One note about tickets and Marching MPA…when we enter an MPA (Concert, Jazz, Solo and Ensemble) we pay a price per student. The ticket sales from Marching MPA help offset the per student cost of MPA events. Because we have a large FBA district, our per student assessment (usually around $6/entry) is about HALF that of other districts in Florida. So your ticket purchases really DO HELP all of the Orange County bands!!!
The schedule for the week is as follows:
- Tuesday– Marching Band 5:30-8:30
- Wednesday– Marching Band 2:30-5:30
- Friday– Since there is no Football Game on Friday (Liberty HS does not allow visiting bands to attend) we will have a Community Preview performance night at 6:00pm in the stadium!! This will be a great chance to get a look at the band in FULL uniform in a final run before MPA. We will have a short rehearsal from 2:45-4:45, get into uniform and then perform at 6 in the stadium. After our performance we will pack up and dismiss to get plenty of rest for MPA!
- Saturday MPA– Show Shirts!
- 8:30am- Short wake-up rehearsal
- 9:15am- Load trucks
- 9:45am- Get into uniform and depart for Boone
- 10:40am- Arrive at Boone
- 11:40am- Warm Up
- 12:40pm- MPA PERFORMANCE!
- Post performance we will watch some bands and leave after the 4:00pm band. We should be back to LBV at 5:00pm.
NEXT WEEK is FFCC Finals!!!
We perform at 2:40pm at West Orange HS. It is a prelims/finals show and we have a good shot at making finals. If we make finals (which would be a HUGE deal and an honor for our program) we would perform again sometime at night. I will have a detailed itinerary next Monday for you, but that is the general idea for timing next Saturday. (11/9). That will conclude our marching season.

Great job everyone the past month! We have overcome a lot and I am super proud of our entire band family. We have a great last 2 weeks ahead of us, and I look forward to sharing it with all of you!
