Hello Viper Vanguard Family!
Wow! What a tremendous end to our marching band season this past Saturday at West Orange HS in the FFCC Championships! The band gave an awesome prelims performance Saturday afternoon, advancing to Finals competition at night. In finals, I’d say we gave EASILY our best performance of the year. The kids really left it all on the field and it was awesome to see. Finishing 5th in our class and 6th in Finals overall, it was an incredibly successful end to a very successful season.
Huge thank you to all of the parent volunteers who stepped up the entire season chaperoning, helping with uniforms, sewing, prop building, equipment moving, concession helping and more. This can’t happen without support from parents. Thank you for everything. It will certainly be fun to reminisce about this season at Band Banquet in the spring!
We go right into the rest of the year TOMORROW (11/11) with our first concert of the year, starting at 7pm in the auditorium. Admission is free. Symphonic Band, both jazz bands, and Wind Ensemble will perform some wonderful repertoire for you, please come out and enjoy the concert!
Jazz Ensembles and Wind Ensemble will have sound check rehearsals right after school tomorrow. Symphonic Band members call time is 5:00pm, ready to perform in their concert black. Wind Ensemble and Jazz 1 call time is 6:15pm.
NEXT Monday we will be hosting all county band auditions. Sign ups for student volunteer hours will happen this week. It is a VERY large event with over 1200 auditions happening between 4pm-9pm. It will be a busy evening. Our own students auditions times will be posted early this week.
Thanksgiving break is just around the corner! Thank to you EVERYONE for an outstanding fall season!!
