Hello Viper Vanguard Family!
I hope this week’s update finds you well. We had a great time at Oak Ridge HS on Friday in the stands as we watched the football team cruise to victory. The band played very well in the stands and provided a ton of energy in the game! This week is a home game week as we play West Orange on Friday.
Our first contest is in 2 Saturdays, on the 28th at Tocoi Creek High School. The itineraries for both this Friday and next Saturday are below. For those wishing to come watch the band perform at the contest, tickets can be ordered IN ADVANCE and ONLY IN ADVANCE at the following link: FFCC Outdoor Tocoi Creek HS Tickets, Sat, Sep 28, 2024 at 3:00 PM | Eventbrite. They DO NOT SELL TICKETS AT THE SHOW. YOU MUST ORDER IN ADVANCE.
We perform at 6:15pm. Our “classification” starts at 6 and awards for the event will be at 9:30. The schedule will have more information about the order of events for the day.
Schedule this week:
- Tuesday- marching band 5:30-8:30 (Senior band photos 2:20-3:00pm in uniform)
- Wednesday- marching band 2:30-5:30
- Friday- home football vs. West Orange
- Saturday- All State Band Auditions at Ocoee HS (those students already have their times)
Schedule for Friday Football Game vs. West Orange (at LBV) RED SHIRT
- 2:30- Rehearsal in Stadium
- 3:45- Rehearsal concludes. Store equipment
- 4:00- Dinner break
- 5:30- Report to band room get into uniform
- 6:15- Move to Stadium
- 7:00- Kickoff
- 8:00- Approximate Halftime Show
- 10:00- Approximate dismissal

Schedule for Saturday, September 28, contest at Tocoi Creek HS (RED SHIRT)
- 9:30am- Rehearsal on Lot (or stadium if avail)
- 11:30am- Rehearsal concludes, load trucks
- NOON- Lunch Break
- 1:00pm- Load buses
- 1:15pm- Depart for Tocoi Creek HS
- 3:00pm- Arrive at Tocoi Creek- unload trucks
- 4:30pm- Begin Physical Warm up
- 5:20pm- Begin Music Warm up
- 6:15pm- PERFORMANCE
- 6:45pm- Meet back at trucks/buses- load all equipment
- 7:15pm- Go back to stadium to watch rest of event
- 9:30pm- Awards
- 10:15pm- Depart for LBV
- 12:00- Arrive at LBV- Unload trucks/dismissal
Students should bring money for concession meal at Tocoi Creek. If I get any specifics about concessions before the event, I will be sure to pass that information along. It will be a fun day. There are many great bands at this event!!
SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENT
The parent meeting scheduled for Wednesday, September 25 will instead happen after rehearsal on Wednesday, OCTOBER 2. We will have a special guest at that meeting who will help us launch our big fall fundraiser for the program. More details as we approach that date.
