Viper Vanguard Weekly Update

Hello Viper Vanguard Family!

I hope this email finds you well and that you each navigated the storm with little damage. I know many people were hit very hard and I am thankful for the recovery time that a few days off have given for many families.

FORTUNATELY, I can confidently say that we will be “back to normal” this week with our rehearsal schedule and football game on Friday. This game is of course homecoming and we look forward to many fun festivities this week leading up to the game on Friday.  I know that we will have a pep-rally on Friday however, that will happen DURING the school day and not before school.

Schedule for this week:
  • Tuesday- Marching Band 5:30-8:30
  • Wednesday- Marching Band 2:30-5:30
  • Friday- Homecoming game vs. Innovation (RED SHIRTS)
    • 2:40- Rehearsal in Stadium
    • 4:00- Rehearsal concludes- dinner break
    • 5:30- Report to band room- get into uniform
    • 7:00- Kickoff
    • Perform at halftime (TBD)
      • Possibly watch visiting band perform after the game
    • 10:30 approximate dismissal
A FEW SCHEDULE REMINDERS/ADJUSTMENTS

Due to the make up day for hurricane Milton (Friday, October 25), the football game NEXT week has been moved from that Thursday night to Friday night. That will be BOTH our Senior Night and Middle School night.

The schedule for NEXT WEEK is (week of 10-21)
  • Tuesday- Marching Band 5:30-8:30
  • Wednesday- Marching Band 2:30-5:30
  • FRIDAY FOOTBALL GAME vs. East River
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

We are once again serving as host for the Bands of America Orlando Regional contest at Camping World Stadium and we need BOTH parent and student volunteers! This is an OUTSTANDING way for students to earn service hours toward bright futures OR work off Fair Share. We have some roles that we really do need adult helpers for, so we need more that students for the jobs. BOA donates $1500 to our program in return for our efforts, so it is a worthwhile endeavor.

CONCLUSION OF MARCHING SEASON APPROACHING:

It is hard to believe, we have only a few weeks left in the marching season! MPA is on 11/2 at Boone High School and FFCC Championships is on 11/9 at West Orange HS. The kids will have a spectacular end to the season, I know it!!

ONE MORE REMINDER:

Please don’t forget to share your child’s fundraising page on your social media! As I type this we have raised just over $6,600 on the platform. I know one child has raised over $1,000 mostly because their parents put the posting on their facebook page!! We are definitely on pace to hit our goal on this fundraiser!!https://instaraise.com/lbvhs/band
